Tygapuss makes alternative rock for outsiders, alien girls, restless hearts and people, who listen closely. The songs move between glossy guitars, wounded glamour and poetic lyrics about identity, obsession, heartbreak and the strange feeling of being human.
After the raw alternative rock energy of her first album FUN! Tygapuss returns to the musical roots of her outsider universe. Currently she releases songs from the upcoming digital EP “Reflection in 7 Chapters”, which is influenced by various music styles the she grew up with: Pop, Rock, Hip Hop, Reggae, Soul and Dub.
Tygapuss publicly appeared on TV in BR Abendschau (interview and live performance of “Alien Girl”), on different radio stations in Germany, UK and USA

About – The girl behind the alien
Tygapuss is an Alternative Rock artist from Germany, whose songs move between vulnerability and resistance. Writing in English, she explores identity, control, not belonging, and the moments when illusion breaks apart. Her sound combines lyrical intensity, melodic instinct and a punk-minded edge – built for listeners, who feel deeply and listen closely.
Tygapuss is not chasing noise for its own sake. She is building a world, where outsider experiences become songs with impact, tension and emotional clarity. 2017 she released her first album FUN! The single “He’s Savage Like An Animal” was played on 60 college and independent radio stations in the USA, UK, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada and Australia.

This is one mother of a CD which presents twenty-five minutes of pure, unadulterated musical enjoyment. It goes by the name of Tygapuss “FUN!” and that is exactly what it delivers. Each track ventures into the world of heartfelt angst coupled with human optimism and an acute sense of positivism. Tygapuss belts out the lyrics in an uncompromising fashion, her voice reaching the heights of what only can be described as a “White Stripes meets Blondie meets Siouxsie Sioux” scenario whilst remaining a subtle mix of raucousness, rawness and enchanting melody.

I was talking a few days ago about loving picking up a second hands records that had a story to tell about their journey into my possession. Well, here we go! Released in 2017, this one has somehow managed to make it all the way from Germany to a charity shop in Liverpool and been signed by the artist along the way before I got hold of it. And I’m not kidding here, this is literally one of the best albums I’ve heard in ages. It’s a strange journey, a strange way to find a really cool artist, but here we are, go and check this out, it’s brilliant!
